Who I Am
From the time I was 7-years-old I wanted to be a writer. I created books out of stapled sheets of paper between cardboard and wrapped in contact paper. I typed stories on my grandmother’s typewriter. It’s not just what I do; it’s who I am.
As they say, ‘when one door closes, a window opens.’ After spending nearly a decade as a newspaper reporter (and editor, and photographer, and videographer, and social media guru, and social website diva, and….), economic restructuring led me to search for a new path in life. I wanted to find a way to continue doing what I loved, which is meeting new people, helping others, and scratching the ever present itch to write.
Looking for a fix for my writing obsession, I have turned to freelance assignments, as well as branched out my creativity to cake decorating and working on my bucket list. I’m an avid DIY-er and reader as there is no end to my curiosity and love of learning.
When not tapping away at a keyboard, I’m a wife and a mom to a young miniature Schnauzer puppy. I’m constantly trolling Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Pinterest for new ideas and new friends.
